Jane Channell

Born and raised in North Vancouver, Jane was a multi-sport athlete. The 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics sparked the idea of trying skeleton for her, but it wasn't until the Vancouver 2010 Games that it really hit home. With all the excitement and world-class facilities in her own backyard, after graduation Jane moved to Whistler to fully immerse herself in the fast-paced, head-first sport of skeleton. Making the Canadian National Development Team in her second year, Jane moved up the ranks on the Intercontinental Team. Jane worked her way up to the World Cup in the second half of her fourth season as a skeleton racer, and won a silver medal in 2017 at the Whistler Sliding Centre. She also had the opportunity to compete in the 2018 Winter Games. In 2020 at the World Championships in Altenberg, Germany Jane took home a silver medal in the mixed team event! She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physical geography.Β
