David Johnson

David is a Canadian track and field para athlete that competes in athletics. He was diagnosed with a degenerative eye condition when he was eight years old. With the long time struggle in accepting that one day he could go totally blind, he has made a mark as an athlete. Now with only have 3% of his vision left and he wakes up everyday feeling extremely grateful for the opportunities he has. David has been on Team Canada for athletics since 2017. Track and field has taught him many valuable skills, such as; how to work hard, be patient, work with others, communicate efficiently, and good time management skills. He loves getting on stage and talking about his experiences to thousands of people and showing them that anything is possible. Traveling the world for track and field, speaking in front of thousands of people and being proud to have a disability are things he never thought he would be able to achieve.
