Andrea Proske rowing her boat in a competition

Andrea Proske

Andrea had never considered rowing until, in 2013 over Thanksgiving dinner, a family friend suggested she try it. Already 27, with no sporting background, and an established career in Hotel Management, this seemed like a crazy idea. But aren't those the best kind? So, Andrea put her vocation on hold to jump headfirst into her new adventure. Within 5 years, she won the Canadian National Rowing Championships (2016), medaled silver (2018) and bronze (2019) at World Cup 3, and competed at the World Championships (2018). To wrap her athletic career, Andrea was a valued member of the women's 8 that won the gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. When not competing around the world, she trains with the Canadian National Rowing Team in Victoria BC.
