Alysia Rissling

Alysia is currently the seventh ranked female bobsleigh pilot in the World. Born and raised in Edmonton, she played five years of basketball in college and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Alysia decided she wasn't done being an athlete and moved to Calgary to pursue a career in bobsledding. After a year competing as a brakeman, she moved into the front seat and learned how to pilot the sled. Alysia was a part of history when she became the first woman to ever pilot a four-man sled in an official race that had a crew of all women. In the 2017 season, Alysia graduated to the World Cup circuit, and climbed the world rankings with multiple top ten finishes and a World Cup bronze medal at the PyeongChang Olympic test event. Her goal of representing Canada at the 2018 Winter Olympics was realized as she competed in the two-man bobsleigh event.
